I believe failure of Parliament, the judiciary and the executive branches of government to enforce asset disclosure of public and civil servants prior to the start of each year is intentional and a conspiracy by the political and the educated elite class to create a nation of haves and have not who will forever be servants to a bunch of rich and morally bankrupt class.
This failure, I believe, is intentional the same way we are churning out practicing lawyers than engineers and scientist in a country that our monthly wages for the middle and lower class will never be enough to keep lawyers employed doing legal work.
If Atta Akyea, a former MP, who knows damn well that his client can never provide legitimately documents showing assets were legally acquired from earned income but would like the courts and the public to ignore what is obvious, then the nation of Ghana is all but normalizing, stealing, abuse, misuse, bribery and corruption. So the question facing us all is this: why are we more prepared to defend evil and anti-social behaviour by producing more lawyers each year instead of putting measures in place that will secure taxpayer monies for the development of Ghana?
I am a Ghanaian that has never been impressed with Ghanaians who claim to be rich but at the root of their wealth and wealth of family is illegally obtained contracts, illegitimate revenues and failure to pay their share of taxes. It is the lack of shame and a society that has accepted the blurring of the line between truths and lies people tend to yearn to become rich by any means necessary including knowingly polluting the hell out of our rivers and the land that produces the food we eat.

The security equipment which the Attorney General claimed that it was not bought but the money was stolen; the defence had shown that it had been purchased and it had been delivered and was being used and the Israli Company which supplied had an ongoing servicing contract on the new equipment.
Much ado about nothing.
Like Wontumi who engaged a colleague to do land reclamation on his mining concession. His colleague ganged up with his confidant to do illegal mining on a portion of Wontumi's concession. Wontumi reported and the Security forces arrested the illegal miners. The investigators used the 2 illegal miners as witnesses against Wontumi, saying that if Wontumi had not given his colleague access to his mining concession he could not have done the illegal mining. The illegal miners were set free. Wontumi was imprisoned 20 years.
