Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has publicly recognised her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as the leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a statement on Thursday, October 8, 2026, Adwoa Safo, said she had chosen the path of reconciliation and was prepared to work with her brother to preserve and advance the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo.
“I have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father's wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church,” she said.
“He has my full support, and I state unequivocally that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father's Vision and Legacy,” she stated.
Her declaration comes after disagreements within the family following the death of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, particularly over the leadership and succession of the Kristo Asafo Church.
Adwoa Safo said the time had come for the family to put their differences behind them and focus on preserving their late father's legacy.
“The time has come for us, as a family, to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history,” she stated.
She stressed that the legacy of their father should not be associated with any one individual but treated as a collective responsibility of his children.
“Our father's legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children, and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to, dearly,” she said.
“We must therefore rise above our differences, preserve what he built and ensure that his ideals continue to inspire generations to come,” she added.

Adwoa Safo also appealed to members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the wider Kantanka family to respect the unity of the family as they begin what she described as a new chapter.
“I encourage all members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the larger Kantanka family and everyone associated with our father's work whilst he was alive to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family,” she said.
“Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she added.
She further extended her goodwill to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings, expressing hope that the latest development would bring healing and unity to the family.
“I extend my sincere goodwill and best wishes to my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and to my other siblings on this renewed journey of peace and forgiveness,” she said.
“May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father,” she added.
