An 18-year-old girl identified as Ruhaina Fuseini, also known as Rita, has reportedly died in Tamale under circumstances believed to be linked to suspected substance abuse.

According to information available to Neesim News, Rita was rushed to the SDA Hospital in Tamale by her boyfriend after she suddenly fell ill.

A source familiar with the incident told Neesim News that Rita had reportedly been staying at her boyfriend’s residence at Bayan Waya for almost a week before she became seriously ill.

The source further indicated that the boyfriend told medical officers that Rita had used a substance he identified as shisha.

Rita was admitted to the hospital on Monday but, despite efforts by medical personnel to resuscitate her, she reportedly died on Tuesday.

Her remains have since been conveyed to Kintampo, her hometown, for burial.

The exact cause of death has not been officially established, and the claim of substance use remains an allegation pending confirmation from medical authorities or other competent institutions.
