The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) is set to conduct an aviation security exercise to test the country’s preparedness to respond to emergencies and security threats at airports.
The exercise, dubbed “Exercise Falcon Eye”, will be based on a simulated act of unlawful interference with airport operations.
According to the Ministry of Transport in a Facebook post, the exercise will assess the effectiveness of the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP) and Airport Emergency Plan (AEP).
It will also test the readiness of the Emergency Operations Centre, decision-making processes, communication and information dissemination, as well as the response capabilities of key emergency and security agencies.

Other participating agencies include the Ghana Army, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Immigration Service, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and other relevant stakeholders.
The Ministry said the exercise is expected to strengthen coordination, preparedness and response among airport stakeholders.
It will also help enhance Ghana’s capacity to manage aviation security emergencies.
