If Dr. Ayew decides to withdraw or discontinue this case, he should carefully consider the possible consequences, particularly the way that decision could later be characterized publicly.
A withdrawal or discontinuance of a case does not, by itself, establish that the allegations were true or false, nor does it necessarily amount to an admission of wrongdoing. However, once proceedings are discontinued, there may be greater room for either side to present its own interpretation of why the matter was not determined on the merits.
That is why Dr. Ayew should think carefully before allowing the case to simply fall away, especially if he believes the allegations against him are false and damaging to his reputation.
Owusu Bempah is a public figure who has a platform from which he can repeatedly discuss matters concerning people he has previously mentioned. If this case is withdrawn without a judicial determination, Dr. Ayew should consider whether that could later be used rhetorically to support a version of events that he disputes.
The important point is this: if there are serious allegations that can properly be determined by the court, the strongest course may be to allow the appropriate legal process to run its course and let the evidence be tested.
Dr. Ayew should not allow a dispute that can be addressed through evidence and due process to become a matter of competing narratives on a public platform.
Let the court determine what can properly be determined by the court. Let the evidence speak for itself. And let neither side use the absence of a judgment on the merits as proof of something the court never actually decided.
If this man discontinued the case he ll forever lived to regret it!

If Owusu Bempah made statements that Nana believes are false and defamatory, let him prove them in court. If the court finds that the statements were false and legally actionable, Nana should pursue whatever remedies the law provides, including damages where appropriate.
And if an apology is warranted, it should come from the person who made the allegations—not a junior pastor being asked to carry the burden for someone else’s words.

Doctor, accepting an apology does not have to mean abandoning the legal proceedings.
If you withdraw the case, that should not legally be interpreted as an admission that Owusu Bempah’s allegations were true. However, without a determination on the merits, Owusu Bempah could later offer his own interpretation of why the case ended and potentially use the absence of a judgment to support his narrative.
That is why you should think carefully before discontinuing the matter. If you maintain that the allegations were false, defamatory and damaging to your reputation, allow the court to test the evidence and determine whether you are entitled to a legal remedy.
You can accept an apology while still insisting on accountability through the appropriate legal process, subject to the terms of any settlement or the court’s orders.
Doctor, don’t let this matter disappear without careful consideration. Don’t allow the person who allegedly caused the reputational harm to control the narrative afterward. Let the evidence be tested, let the court determine liability, and if damages or another remedy is legally justified, pursue it.
Don’t let Owusu Bempah off the hook merely because an apology has been offered. Let the law take its course.
If he withdraws this case, his reputation will be in tatters!
Doctor, accept the apology but that doesn’t negate the court action

If Dr. Afriyie believes that God has placed him in this situation for a greater purpose, then this may be the moment to stand firmly for the principles he believes in.
The Ghanaian church needs greater accountability when it comes to irresponsible speech, unsubstantiated pronouncements, inflammatory rhetoric and conduct that undermines public trust in religious leadership. Those who occupy the pulpit carry influence, and with that influence comes a responsibility to speak carefully, act responsibly and be accountable for serious allegations.
Doctor, perhaps this is your opportunity to turn a difficult situation into a principled stand—not out of hatred or revenge, but out of a desire to see greater integrity within the church.
If you believe this is a responsibility God has placed before you, do not run from it. Stand for truth, due process and accountability. Let the evidence be tested, let the law take its course, and allow the outcome to speak for itself.
Sometimes one person’s decision to stand firm can force an entire institution to confront standards it has tolerated for far too long.

Owusu Bempah’s decision to have a junior pastor apologize does not necessarily dispose of the matter, particularly if the statements complained of were made by Owusu Bempah himself.
If Dr. Ayew maintains that the statements were false, defamatory, and caused reputational harm, he should consider allowing the court to determine the matter rather than discontinuing the proceedings prematurely. If the court finds that the legal requirements for defamation have been established, Dr. Ayew can seek whatever remedies the law permits, including damages where appropriate.
If the court determines that a correction or apology is an appropriate remedy, the terms and manner of that remedy will be governed by the court or the parties’ lawful settlement—not by public pressure.
Doctor, don’t make a decision now that you may later regret. If you believe your reputation has been unlawfully damaged, pursue the matter through the proper legal process and let the evidence be tested. Let the court determine who is responsible and what remedy, if any, is justified.

Dr. Afriyie can accept an apology without necessarily abandoning the court case.
An apology does not automatically determine whether a legal wrong occurred, nor does it necessarily resolve any claim for damages. If the apology is genuine, it can be accepted as a gesture of reconciliation while the legal process continues to determine whether the statements were defamatory or otherwise actionable and whether any further remedy is justified.
The important thing is to separate forgiveness from legal accountability. Accepting an apology does not have to mean surrendering a legitimate legal claim, unless the terms of the apology or a settlement expressly resolve the matter.
So, Doctor, accept the apology if you believe it is sincere—but do not assume that an apology alone answers every legal question. If you believe your reputation has been unlawfully harmed, let the court determine the issues that remain.
Don’t pursue this out of revenge. Pursue it for accountability, clarity and justice. Let the evidence be tested, let the court decide, and let any financial or other remedy follow only if the law says it is warranted.

Doctor, listen to the public reaction and you will see that many people want you to continue with the case and allow the legal process to run its course.
You can accept an apology without necessarily abandoning your legal claim.
An apology does not automatically determine whether the underlying allegations were false, defamatory, or otherwise actionable, and it does not by itself prevent a court from determining any issues that remain—unless the terms of the apology or a settlement resolve the matter.
If you believe your reputation has been seriously damaged, think carefully before discontinuing the proceedings.
Without a determination on the merits, others may later interpret the outcome however they choose, and that could leave room for competing narratives.
If Owusu Bempah personally made the statements complained of, it is reasonable to expect him to take responsibility for his own words.
A junior pastor apologizing on his behalf may not provide the same level of accountability as the person who made the original statements addressing them directly.
Doctor, accept the apology if you believe it is sincere, but do not confuse forgiveness with surrendering your legal rights.
If you believe you have been wronged, let the court examine the evidence and determine what, if anything, the law requires.
And if an apology or correction is ultimately appropriate, it should be made in a manner capable of reaching the audience that received the original statements.
Do not act out of anger or revenge. Stand for accountability, protect your reputation, and let the legal process take its course.
THIS COURT PROCEEDINGS is a justice for all Ghanaians and also a reformation of all Ghanaian churches!

For years, many Ghanaians have raised concerns about irresponsible statements, inflammatory rhetoric and a lack of accountability among some religious leaders
This is why the present moment should be treated as an opportunity to demand higher standards from those who occupy the pulpit
Doctor, i genuinely believe that God has placed you in this situation for a purpose, then stand firmly—but do so through truth, evidence and the rule of law
You do not have to attack the church to demand accountability within it
You do not have to seek revenge to insist that public figures take responsibility for their words and conduct
If the allegations against you are false and damaging, let the court test them
If the law establishes wrongdoing, let the appropriate consequences follow
Perhaps this is an opportunity to remind the Ghanaian church that the pulpit should never be above accountability
Religious influence should come with greater responsibility, not immunity from scrutiny
Doctor, stand for principle
Stand for due process
Stand for truth
If your actions help encourage greater integrity and responsibility within Ghanaian Christianity, then let that be the lasting significance of this moment

Congregants also have a responsibility to question what they are being taught and who they choose to follow
If people repeatedly see questionable conduct, inflammatory statements, failed prophecies, financial exploitation, or behavior that contradicts the values being preached, they should not simply look away
They should ask questions, demand accountability, and be willing to walk away when their trust is abused
A religious leader cannot maintain influence without a willing audience. The congregation ultimately gives the pulpit its power
So, boss, the uncomfortable question is not only, “Why are these people calling themselves prophets?” It is also: “Why do thousands of people continue to follow them despite the warning signs?”
We need a culture where faith does not mean abandoning critical thinking. Respect for religion should never mean surrendering judgment
If Ghanaian churches are to become more accountable, the change cannot come only from the pulpit
It must also come from the pews

Why not Owusu Bempah himself but his young pastor who has taken that step? I matters like this, Owusu Bempah should have gone to apologise alongside other people of whom one would be a spokesperson. Staying in his comfort zone and send his ' boys ' to render an apology isn't the best. He should be there and show remorse then the MP can take an informed decision. Owusu Bempah didn't show respect to the MP so he be forgiven.
