The fact that certain categories of persons per their portfolios have some levels of immunity doesn’t make them untouchable in the face of the laws.
Let’s equally be minded of the timelines of the alleged offenses in question.
What Prof. Mike Ocquaye is referencing about Hon. Mahama Ayariga, did the alleged infractions occur whilst he was a member of parliament or not?
In the current situation of Hon. Baffour Awuah, did the alleged infractions occur at a time he was in private practice or when he entered into parliament?
Seriously when EOCO wrote to the embattled MP. did they premix the invitation on his actions whilst he was in private practice and hence the decision to invite him based on his position at the time?
Could EOCO have equally considered his current status and as a matter of fact exercise the right protocols by channeling the invitation through the Speaker?
Either way wouldn’t have truncated the level of invitation as the utmost substance would definitely be realized in getting the MP to assist in investigations.
Until we stop the unnecessary politicking and allowing politicians to hide under the structures of their political parties even when the state requires them to answer to their actions, such unnecessary noises will continue to surface.

In the case of baffuor awuah for example, EOCO states that he was invited, (not chased) to come over to the latter's office twice but he defaulted, so they resorted to accosting him rather gently at the court and we all saw how he almost run his car over the EOCO officer. I think your statement makes sense, however, in this case of baffuor, you can't defend him. The Dan Abodakpui case is a classical example of how a sitting MP should be handled ACCORDING TO NPP STANDARDS. Have you forgotten about that Sir? Will an MP be arrested if he kills his wife or he will be treated differently based on rule of law and the separation of power you have just mentioned, Mr. Professor? Western Democracy should not be ours because of our differences in cultural background. China is a Country that practises democracy as well, why are we not making references to China‘s System of accountability when we are discussing about Corruption? The basic needs of Ghanaians have to be met before corrupt politicians are protected by immunities or before making references to any Western Democracy.

Is purely harassment and a time will come when everyone would be fed up and citizens will stand against those harassment. Ghana is not an exception when it comes to war. What happened to all the ndc members that were facing trials? State not interested in contesting the issues but npp the state has interest.
