Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence after leaving the Portugal national team camp, promising to reveal the full truth behind his decision to depart.
The Al-Nassr forward announced his exit in a cryptic social media post, suggesting there are details surrounding his departure that have not yet been made public.
Ronaldo said his decision came after Portugal coach Jorge Jesus held a press conference and following a conversation with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença.
“After the National Team coach’s press conference, and following a conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the National Team training camp,” Ronaldo wrote.

The 41-year-old did not elaborate on what was discussed with the federation president or what specifically prompted his decision to leave the camp.
However, he indicated that he would eventually provide his version of events with the Portuguese public.
“In due time, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that led to my departure from the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself,” he added.
Ronaldo’s departure comes amid growing attention surrounding his situation with the Portugal team after he was left on the bench for the entire 2-1 win over Norway.
Despite the controversy, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner ended his message by wishing his country and teammates well.
“Now is the time to wish good luck to Portugal and to all my teammates,” he said.
