A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Legal Team, Enoch Afoakwa, has formally reported an alleged assault by an Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) officer to the police.
The complaint follows the attempted arrest of Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Afoakwa said the incident took place shortly after the legislator appeared at the High Court as legal counsel for Salomey Awitty Baffoe in the ongoing Ghana Jollof case.
Speaking on Channel One TV on September 28, 2026, he explained that he had reported the alleged assault during the confrontation with EOCO officials.
According to him, the police issued him a medical form, which he took to a hospital for examination and treatment.
“The lady punched me in my face. What did I do to have received that kind of a punch in my face? As a lawyer, I am looking at the options available, but once the incident happened, I made an official complaint to the police,” he said.
“They have issued the police medical form, and I have attended the hospital for them to take care of me, observe and examine me. I will follow up and tender everything to the police and let the police decide what to do next,” he added.
