I don't believe it's cost of living alone. It's mainly the artificial exchange rate by BoG. Lots of people in abroad have paused on their projects or are using informal means to transfer money to Ghana. For example going through the abokye market, which unfurtunaly doesn't reflect on national remittance data. The government exchange-rate policy has discouraged many diasporans to remittances through formal channel.
If my 1000 dollars could cover xyz project in 2024 and now the same 1000 dollars will cover only half of the same project in 2026 haven factored in inflation. I think every wise diasporan will think twice before investing in Ghana. I believe those little monies sent to the families hasn't stop. The cost of living in Ghana is overwhelming.
