President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has set an ambitious target of attracting 10 million shareholders as part of efforts to broaden ownership of his company across Africa.
Dangote said the company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) is not only aimed at raising capital but also at giving ordinary people across the continent an opportunity to own shares and benefit from the company’s growth.
According to him, the company has already raised the money it was seeking, making the wider distribution of shares a major focus of the exercise.

“We’re trying to bring in democracy to our stock markets,” Dangote said, explaining that the goal is to spread wealth by allowing more Africans to become shareholders.
He noted that interest in the share sale had extended beyond Nigeria, with investors from different parts of Africa showing interest.
Dangote said the company was targeting 10 million shareholders, which could significantly broaden its ownership base and bring millions of ordinary investors into the stock market.
Dangote expressed confidence in the company’s future performance, saying he expected its share price to continue growing.
He also projected that the company would become “the most profitable company in Africa.”
