When the free SHS program was launched, a lot of private schools closed down, and what was the reason? The rich Ghanaian removed his child into the free SHS program so, who is rich when it comes to free education?
The NPP government used internal generated funds to support the free education throughout before they left office so, why can't Mahama who brags of being the sensible leader use internal generated funds to support the program than going to borrow?

The rich may be rich for a reason which the working class and poor may not have, like ancestral wealth, living in prime areas and having access to good amenities.
It is warps thinking that leaving the poor without help does not have far reaching consequences.
I would pay for my kids to attend school if I have the means, than settling for free things just to feel petty.
We need a means tested method to help in the enrollment since most of them will not change.
A lot of them for instance enjoyed the scholarship only to return to Ghana if they want, to lord it over the masses.
At least, they can do what the Western and rich Eastern nations do, ensure the working class have all the essentials and they would care little about the greed of the rich.

Listen to John Mahama's statement and understand the message he is trying to convey. The NPP government funded the free SHS with internally generated funds. There is nothing like borrowed money anywhere and if Mahama is complaining about "No money anywhere to support the double track, who is he fooling"? Is Mahama telling his foolish supporters that he cannot generate internal funds than to borrow, if yes, why does he see the past government that supported the program with internally generated funds as bad governance?
Also, I dare Mahama to come out with his educational records before the double track system came and see which was better. The double track became possible due to the free SHS program which saw a huge surge in the educational enrollment else, what was the meaning to it?
Mahama does not think and he is exhibiting that stupid traits to all.

@Pelicles..but it was the NPP administration that started the double track and yet could not end it for the same reasons.
In fact, it was started because the interior funds and foreign donors money could not afford the standard educational calendar days.
The framers of the Constitution in their wisdom said, SHS education should be made progressively free but for political reasons, Nana Addo's adm chose to rush it.
Well, we are here so how do we fix it.
Left to me, I would first cut money being used to finance boarders and ask parents to foot that bill.
I'm not sure, what the saves are, but it would surely help with the resources to end double track.
How can students attend school for just half of the time they are meant to get for each term. This is crazy and has to stop.

When a certain president said Ghanaians had a “short memory,” not aware that he was referring to the party members. They don’t remember the good things that the NPP brings to help Ghanaians now and in the future. Apparently, the difference between the two parties is that the NPP is Vision and Mission oriented, while the NDC has only a Mission - that is, what they need now to “chop” and destroy anything good done for Ghanaians by the previous administration. Many Ghanaians are suffering and weeping because they are being pushed in the wrong direction.

The president was referring to this year’s SHS examination final results. He is not sensitive to the youth of this country. The president should apologize to Ghanaians for making such a statement characterized by undigested thinking.
