Most politicians start big projects close to their second term elections with intent to use such big projects to lure or condition citizens for votes and if they do not win, then they abandon the project and waste public funds invested into the project, because most of the times, the next opponent government may not want continue or spend money on the project abandoned by thefts of contract moneys involving the outgoing party.

This is a very good work by the Police and the Military. The Military must be put under very useful and constructive work like this and sometimes patrolling our roads at places where Armed Highway attacks and robbery. We just keep them at the Barracks and they do nothing. There is the saying that THE DEVIL FINDS WORK FOR THE IDLE HANDS.
The Military can help the various communities in providing social amenities for the people. I remember Kutu Acheampong and Efo Julor John Rawlings did that. You don't just keep the Military at the Barracks for them to be doing nothing. There are every professionals in the Military. They can be used to help develop the country. On a more serious note, the Junior Officers should not be left alone with the civilian population. They must always be accompanied by Senior Military Officers who can control them. We had enough of Military Foolishness and stupidities with the Junior Ranks during the time of Efo Julor John Rawlings.
The Military should NOT be kept at any particular neighborhood for long or they will start misbehaving. They should not be kept within the civilian community for more than four weeks at a time and be rotated or taken back to the barracks..

No, Kutu Acheampong who came to meet no money like Nkrumah who met much money left by the British. You might be very young but go to the various Regional Capitals and find out the much that Kutu Acheampong did for Ghana. Do you know the number of schools and Hospitals that he built and enlarged in Ghana? I always feel sad that he and Africa had retired from the Military but because of the hatred for them, they were unjustifiably put before a Military Tribunal, found guilty without the right to Appeal and were executed by Firing Squad. According to what I understand, Efo Julor John Rawlings was very much against these trials and execution but Boakye Djan and the Tsikatas forced them down his throat. Rawlings has to be blamed because he was the Head. And uneasy lies the Head that wears the Crown.

Wondering what the Forestry commission is planning to do....
It will be nice to have 80 of the forest cover along this express way preserved....it will make Ghana a beautiful place...plus the next Ghana delegation to go for these expensive climate change conferences will have something to show...that in Ghana we don't cut tress without replanting.....
Still...I think this express way when completed will give our country a critical stone spine to accelerate our development just like the rail roads did for the west.

If the Mahama Government successfully complete this project,NDC Government will be in power for a long time to come.Bravo to NDC for even taking the initiative.
Let them finish the express way and leave the rural areas roads and other infrastructure unattended to and see how they would win power. You think Ghana is just Accra to Kumasi Expressway.
But they constructing other roads as well or you didn't know
Is only undetvNDC that machetes are used t o contract expresd way
A law must be passed to stop encroachment, illegal junctions and buildings. The public must be restricted or prohibited from developing on the right-of-way, otherwise this new road will become another Tema Motorway.
