That said we can revive the "Colts League" but that will not stop players from seeking greener pastures outside Ghana due to the lucrative contract they get.
How many of these players played for any European teams then: Polo, Ofei Ansah, Mama Acquah, Osei Kofi, Yaw Sam, Kwesi Owusu, Dan Owusu, Anas Seidu, Peter Lamptey, Robert Hammond, George Kennedy, George Arthur, Papa Arko, Opoku Afriyie, Yahya Kassum, and the rest?
All the above-mentioned players rose through the colt's league but stayed home and that made our local football more competitive than we see today. So, we can revive the colts league but till the players stay, nothing will change.
Another factor is the monies being paid to the players. If the players paid well, they could stay home and play for a long time else, we should just forget it.
I remember those days when Kotoko and Hearts face each other. The entire country enters into a "Tensed Atmosphere" and that was when football was football in Ghana.

Colts football played an important role unearthing early talents in football. It generates interest among communities and the support was great. It became a sort of intertainment among communities. In Accra for instance, areas where teams were formed always carries an identity and there was succession anytime a local league was formed. Those areas came together to revive their football identity. The rivalry alone helped shaped the teams. The problem with Colts football was a lot of individuals( team managers) invested so much money individually without getting anything in return. These are the people who created a path for great footballers but they themselves became poor afterwards.
