President John Dramani Mahama has presented financial support to three clubs that represented Ghana in continental competitions.

Medeama Sporting Club received $30,000, Nations FC was handed $20,000, while Ampem Darkoa received $10,000 during a courtesy call at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The presentation formed part of a meeting between the President and representatives of the three clubs, who are set to compete in CAF-organised competitions.

Medeama, who won the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, received the biggest amount as they prepare for their CAF Champions League campaign.

The Tarkwa-based side is scheduled to travel to Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo for a second-leg encounter against TP Mazembe, with the support expected to provide a financial and morale boost ahead of the difficult assignment.



Nations FC, meanwhile, received $20,000 as they continue their CAF Confederation Cup campaign. The club suffered defeat in the away leg and will now look to overturn the deficit when they host the return fixture in Accra.

Ampem Darkoa were presented with $10,000 following their participation in the WAFU Zone B qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Ghanaian women’s club reached the final of the regional competition but lost to Nigeria’s Edo Queens, narrowly missing out on qualification for the continental tournament.

The three clubs were represented at the Jubilee House alongside officials from the Ghana Football Association and other stakeholders.



Medeama also presented their Ghana Premier League and Champions of Champions trophies to President Mahama, while Nations FC presented their FA Cup trophy and a club jersey.
