More details have emerged surrounding the death of Ivan Baidoo, a young Ghanaian who reportedly died in a crash on the Tema Motorway on August 27, 2026, with his family appealing for information to establish what happened before the fatal incident.

According to accounts shared by the family and circulated on social media, Baidoo was travelling as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle when the rider was allegedly pursued by a police vehicle.

The family claims the pursuit began around the UPSA traffic light and continued towards the Tema Motorway.

They further allege that a police officer kicked Baidoo and the motorcycle rider off the bike near the highway, after which Baidoo was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The vehicle involved in the alleged collision reportedly fled the scene, leaving Baidoo fatally injured.

However, the allegations have not been independently verified, and the circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear.

Baidoo was reportedly a Level 200 law student at Central University and had previously served as the Quaque House Prefect at Adisadel College in 2024.

His family is now appealing to the public and authorities for any information, CCTV footage or other evidence that could help establish the sequence of events leading to his death.

A reward of GH¢50,000 has reportedly been offered for credible information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of the person or persons allegedly involved in the fatal incident.

The family has urged anyone with information about the incident to report to the nearest police station, assuring that information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.
