President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has criticised members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who recently attacked Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie for praising the Mineral Income Investment Fund (MIIF), after a similar post by COCOBOD resurfaced online.

The resurfaced post, dated October 16, 2020, captures former Chief Justice Kwasi Anin‑Yeboah commending COCOBOD’s management for their performance during a courtesy visit.

Describing himself as a proud son of a farmer, Anin‑Yeboah lauded the institution for “doing a laudable job of managing an industry which is the backbone of the country.”

“The farmer is also better off because I could see the inputs which have trickled down to the smallest cottage you can think of; I am really glad,” he stated.

Following the resurfacing of the old post about the former Chief Justice, which has sparked debate online, Franklin Cudjoe, who earlier defended Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has once again lambasted the NPP for their criticism of the current CJ.

Franklin Cudjoe used the resurfaced post to call out NPP critics, branding them “loud partisans” and “busybodies.”

“So, where are those loud partisan folks who were insulting me for saying that there was NOTHING WRONG with a Chief Justice visiting public institutions, even if the motive was to fraternize with them and encourage them to do better? Right here, we see the former CJ under the NPP gleefully showering praises on the management of COCOBOD then,” he said.

He added that rare praise for state institutions should be welcomed, warning that the NPP’s focus on petty politics risks alienating sensible voices within the party.

“Rare praise is good for these institutions. The current CJ does it, and now these busybodies say he shouldn't have because NO CJ has ever visited state-owned enterprises.

“Once again, the current NPP leadership should take note that the focus on petty matters keeps alienating sensible people from the maddening crowd,” he added.
