A 2020 post by COCOBOD has resurfaced online after current Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie came under heavy scrutiny for praising the Mineral Income Investment Fund (MIIF) during a recent state visit.

On September 2, 2026, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie lauded MIIF’s performance, expressing surprise at the progress of some state institutions compared to eight years ago.

His statements sparked criticism, particularly from opposition figures, who described them as “unacceptable” and “unwarranted.”

In contrast, a resurfaced COCOBOD post dated October 16, 2020, captures former Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah commending the institution for its achievements.

During a courtesy call on then-CEO Joseph Boahen Aidoo and his management team, Anin-Yeboah, who described himself as a proud son of a farmer, praised COCOBOD for “doing a laudable job of managing an industry which is the backbone of the country.”

“The farmer is also better off because I could see the inputs which have trickled down to the smallest cottage you can think of; I am really glad,” he stated.

The post also included a group photograph of Anin-Yeboah with COCOBOD’s management.

Following its resurfacing, Franklin Cudjoe and Rockson Defeamekpor have aimed at the NPP, using the former CJ’s praise to criticise Baffoe-Bonnie’s recent comments about MIIF.
