It is only crooked criminal politicians and their hangers-on who are afraid of their own shadows who are sensitive and frightened about the freedom of speech of judges, who make a big deal about the public opinions of judges.

There is no law neither is there a constitutional article that forbid justices from the Ghana judiciary from making statements on economic policies or the status of Ghana; none. If you, Kojo Poku, were to read the Ghana constitution or the system of government you would add to your knowledge base that the 3-co-equal arms of government are parliament/legislative, the judiciary/courts and the presidency/executive branches are same and not subservient to one another.
So if the laws and constitution of Ghana does not forbid members of parliament/MP's or the president from talking about politics or criticizing or praising economic status of Ghana then what prevents the CJ from offering his opinion of the economy of the day?
The CJ did not talk about cases before the courts, did not offer opinion about guilt or innocence of people neither did he talk about how he would rule on cases. The CJ is not the frontline judge on cases brought to the courts neither is entitled to tell other justices how to rule on cases before them in the courts. What we have here is failure of people to break free from the shackles NPP as a political party has on the thinking of all its members, old or young, male or female, educated or uneducated, travelled or still the villager.
I expect people from the UK to know better but I am proven wrong because apparently you cannnot take tribal foolishness out of some Ghanaians the same way you cannot make a horse drink when you take it to the pond.

1. The first commentary was that this was the first time a CJ was visiting institutions that were supposed to be under the supervision of the executive arm of gocernment. But this COCIBOD visit by CJ Anim Yeboah dispproved that.
2. That comments made were partisan but we all know that is not true as the CJs have made comments on policies which were having a polutical divide in this country. Sophia Akkufo on free SHS and Anim Yeboah on the turn around in the management of COCOBOD.
3. Specifically on Anim Yeboah and COCOBOD, Anim's narrative posited his interest as a son of a cocoa farmer. But his comments praising the NPP management sort to posit that inputs like weedicides, fertiluzers and pesticides donations were mismanaged under NDC. Don't forget the CJ was making these statements following NPP prosecution of Dr. Stephen Opuni and Seidu Agongo on the fertilizer distribution programm under NDC.
Starting under NPP precedence, CJs became partisan and that cannot be deemed as sacriligious under NDC.

The two cases are totally different. Anin Yeboah didn’t compare administrations, neither did he cite any dates or times. But imagine what would happen at a football game if the referee is caught siding with one of the opposing teams as being the most efficient team even as the game is underway. So Former CJ Annin's praise of Cocobod then was good but current CJ Baffour-Bonnie's praise is bad.
The NPP seems to be so pained for losing power in the 2024 elections. It was precisely so because they created a red temple for themselves, full of arrogance and disrespect.
President Akuffo Addo simply opened the flat gates for family and friends to create loot and share the produce.
Honestly the only way the NPP can be seen to be making an attempt to redeem their image is to bring back Ken Ofori Atta to account for his stewardship.
The plethora of sagas under them are still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.
The ECG saga, the Sky Train project, the National Cathedral project, the 1D1F saga, the Pwalugu Dam project, the Odorno dredging project, attempt to sell SNNIT properties to themselves, then running down govt properties and then unctioning them back to themselves and above all the DDEP that claimed a lot of lives, are just but a few of the atrocities that Ghanaians can not easily forget.
