A mother of four, Bernice Acquah, has dragged her former husband, the founder and leader of Kingdom Jesus Church in Tarkwa, Nicholas Danso, popularly known as Prophet Otafri Gya, over allegations of neglect and failure to take responsibility for their children.

According to the woman, she met the pastor and dated him for some time before he attended Bible school. After completing his studies, she said, he was asked to marry before he could be ordained as a pastor.

Taking her case to Ahenfie Nokommo, a programme on Ahenfie TV that seeks to resolve domestic issues, the woman said she informed her father about the situation and pleaded with him not to take anything from the man before allowing him to marry her so he could be ordained.

She said her father agreed and the two subsequently got married.

However, she alleged that she later discovered that the pastor was cheating on her with multiple women in the church.

According to her, whenever she confronted him about the alleged affairs, he would tell her that the women were his secretaries.

She further alleged that she once caught the pastor red-handed in a room with another woman. She said she raised an alarm, prompting people to come to the scene.

According to the woman, the incident affected the church, which she claimed began to decline afterwards.

She said that following the incident, the pastor asked her to travel to her aunt in Côte d’Ivoire for some time so that they could both calm down.

However, while she was in Côte d’Ivoire, she said she discovered that she was pregnant with twins. After informing the pastor, she alleged that he instructed her to terminate the pregnancy, warning that he would no longer take care of her if she refused.

“He told me to abort the pregnancy; otherwise, he wouldn’t give me even one cedi because he was already struggling to take care of the first two children. He asked why I wanted to give birth again,” she said.

The woman said she refused to terminate the pregnancy and returned to the pastor. However, she alleged that he continued to maltreat her and later gave her medication, instructing her to take it to terminate the pregnancy.

“I took the medicine but I did not drink it,” she said.

The woman explained that the pastor has since allegedly refused to take responsibility for their children. She said he has failed to provide adequate care for their first two children as well as the twins, whom she eventually gave birth to, bringing the total number of their children to four.

She further alleged that the pastor has taken steps through his family to divorce her.

The woman is therefore appealing to the pastor to take responsibility for their four children and fulfil his parental responsibilities.
