Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) clashed on the Saturday, September 5, 2026 edition of the Newsfile programme on Joy News.

The confrontation arose during a discussion of comments made by Chief Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie regarding the performance of state institutions, which he compared to that of the previous government.

During his submission, Miracles Aboagye, Special Aide to NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, reportedly made remarks about the Chief Justice calling him an "errand boy" that sparked controversy.

Unhappy with the comments, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, Member of Parliament for Akwatia and fellow panellist, rejected Aboagye’s position, leading to a heated exchange between the two.

Bediako demanded that Aboagye retract his words.

However, Aboagye denied making the statement, while Bediako insisted that such remarks were unacceptable and could not be directed at the Chief Justice.

"You called the Chief Justice an errand boy. I'm cautioning you. Be careful. I'm telling you. Be careful," Bediako insisted.

Aboagye then hit back, asking the MP to remain silent and allow him to make his submission.

He further urged Bernard Bediako, the Member of Parliament, to conduct himself in the manner befitting a lawyer, as he claims to be.

"Can you keep quiet and let me speak? You see these things that you people do. This arrogance of power. You are supposed to be a lawyer. Why are you misbehaving?" Aboagye quizzed.
