The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has returned to Kumasi following an official visit to the United States of America.
Upon his arrival on September 3, 2026, the Asantehene called on the Asantehemaa at her residence at the Manhyia Palace, where a reception had been prepared for him.
The engagement, in accordance with Asante tradition, provided an opportunity for the Asantehene to present himself to and brief his traditional mother on the outcome of his mission abroad.

Accompanied by the Guard Commander, the Asantehene inspected the guard before proceeding to a gathering of traditional leaders, government officials and students who had assembled at the airport to welcome him.
After greeting members of the crowd, he departed the airport for a ceremonial parade through the principal streets of Kumasi, heading towards the Manhyia Palace.
During his visit to the United States, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II delivered a lecture at Howard University in Washington, DC, on the theme, “Governance, Cultural Preservation, Traditional Leadership and the Enduring Connections Between Ghana and the Global African Diaspora.”
