South Tongu District Chief Executive (DCE), Victoria Dzeklo, has issued a strong public warning to project contractors working in the district, cautioning them against engaging in inappropriate relationships with young girls.

She warned contractors assigned to the district to focus on their work and stay away from young girls, whom she described as “vulnerable.”

“Please contractors, my ladies here are vulnerable and they are out of bounds to all your staff. Please come and work diligently and leave my girls alone,” she said.

The DCE explained that any inappropriate involvement between contractors and the young girls could have serious consequences, particularly for their education.

She noted that if a young girl faces challenges as a result of such an encounter, she could feel ashamed and eventually discontinue her education.

She stressed that the contractors should not take advantage of the girls’ vulnerability by using money or gifts to lure them into activities they would otherwise not willingly engage in.

“You know, when you meddle with them and something happens to them, they will feel shy to continue their education. If you want to teach somebody something, give the person willingly, not because the person is vulnerable. Don’t use your gifts and money to entice them, to lure them into other activities,” she stated.

Victoria Dzeklo further cautioned contractors that she would take the matter seriously and would not spare anyone found to have taken advantage of the vulnerable girls in the district.

“When we get you, you can imagine what will happen to you. We will not spare you at all,” she added.
