The decomposed body of a woman has been discovered in a gutter along the Haatso-Bohye Road, near the new DVLA office, according to myjoyonline.com report on September 3, 2026.

The discovery reportedly followed complaints from residents who noticed a strong stench emanating from the area. Some residents subsequently traced the source of the odour to the gutter, where they found the body.

According to reports, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating that the deceased may have been in the gutter for some time before she was discovered.

The matter was immediately reported to the police, who proceeded to the scene, retrieved the body and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Following the removal of the body, the area was also fumigated to address the unpleasant odour and sanitary concerns.

Police investigations are underway to establish the identity of the deceased and determine how she died and the circumstances that led to the body being found at the location.

Meanwhile, residents in the area have appealed to the authorities to install adequate streetlights along the stretch of road, saying improved lighting could help enhance security and prevent criminal activities.
