Bawumia is going to be the next President – Hawa Koomson

Mavis Hawa Koomson has declared that her main goal as she seeks to become the NPP’s National Women’s Organiser is to help the party return to power in 2028.

The former MP said the NPP cannot afford to approach the next election without a well-organised and properly mobilised party structure.

“I will make sure I do anything to make sure we come back to power. Bawumia is going to be the next President. We need hard work, resources and unity,” she said on Adom FM.

Koomson said the women’s wing must play a major role in rebuilding the party and mobilising supporters ahead of the 2028 election.

For her, the position is not about individual ambitions but about putting the party’s collective interest first.

“So if we get someone who is a good organiser and mobiliser like me, it’s about the party, not individual interest. We are going to work very hard,” she stated.

She said she is confident that her ability to organise, mobilise and manage people makes her suitable for the role.

Koomson also linked her ambition to her wider political plans, revealing that she has her sights set on an even bigger position within the NPP.

“My next target is National Chairman. I want to break the glass ceiling,” she said.

Her comments show that her bid for the National Women’s Organiser position is part of a longer political ambition within the party.

For now, however, she says her immediate focus is helping the NPP build the unity, resources and grassroots organisation needed to win the 2028 election.
