The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has stated that he has not yet decided whether he will contest for a third term.

He acknowledged the controversies surrounding the topic in public discussions but stated that he will take time to reflect deeply before publicly announcing his decision.

The GFA President emphasised that his current focus remains on delivering his mandate and working diligently to ensure football thrives in the country to the delight of all stakeholders.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Okraku urged calm and assured that his eventual decision will be made in the best interest of Ghanaian football.

When revered journalist Michael Oti Adjei asked if he would go for a third term, Okraku responded:

“I don’t know. I don’t know. And I’ve answered this question many times. We have close to 18 months, give or take, before an elective General Assembly. There’s a lot of work to be done. I want to concentrate on my tenure as president and see how best we can reposition our football. When the time comes, like I’ve always said, I will speak. When the time comes, the football family will speak.”

Meanwhile, the possibility of a third term has been a major topic of discussion within the sporting fraternity, with some fans and stakeholders arguing that Okraku should step aside for a new leader to steer the affairs of the GFA, given the challenges facing Ghanaian football.
