Nkrumah was careless in his International Relations. The sanctions from Uncle Sam, and his overambitious plan to unite all of Africa and possibly be its President. No Arab country was going to like a Black African as the President of the continent. That is very true.
Nkrumah spent lavishly Ghana's money that the British left the country. Such lavish spending on some African countries that were struggling for independence from their European colonial masters made Ghana almost Bankrupt by,1964. People had to queue for basic necessities like Sugar, Milk and even Bathing Soap. His arbitrary rule made him unpopular and I remember mass jubilation that engulfed Ghana when his overthrow was announced. Yes, the arbitrary detention of Ghanaians, including his benefactors like J.B Danquah who had gone blind in Prison was made to die there and buried at the Prison Cemetery. He was not an evil person to be treated like that. The Akyem generally were not going to be happy. So, as for Nkrumah, he dug his own Grave.

The countries that paid members of the Ghana Army and Police to make the coup by their action committed a dictatorship crime, to wit overthrowing the president of another state who was legally elected as president through the use of the security services of that country.
Ghanaians did not go to the polls to vote against Kwame Nkrumah and the CPP or removing him through a universal adult suffrage.
