Hon Henry Quartey was the minister I liked most in the last administration due to his efforts to clean up the city. Remove Aboboyaas and pragya tricycle taxis from our roads. Meanwhile West African beggars and other criminal elements have invaded and inundated neighborhoods and the streets of Accra and other cities. In their wake are spreading and spanning and sprawling and spawning zongos and ghettos. Okada riders have taken over every junction and intersection. Street lights are not functioning or non existent. Traffic lights are malfunctioning. There are no reflectors, no lines, no crosswalk markings etc on our roads posing a great danger to road users especially at night. What is the interior minister, the regional ministers, the MMDCEs and other relevant authorities doing about these dangers? If this canker is not nipped in the bud, the resultant social menace in the near future will be immeasurable.

That area is a community that has been transformed by ordinary Ghanaians into a spare parts market. The shops are now privately owned, so how can you go in and ask them to relocate? All you can do is remove structures in the road and clean the gutters, but you can't control what happens inside the shops since they are not on government land. The government built a spare parts market at SSC Weija during former President Jerry Rawlings' era, but up until now, that place has been used for drinking, sports, food joints, and a few mechanic shops. Currently, development agencies and institutions like ECG, DVLA, and churches have taken over that area. Why wasn't there a plan to relocate spare parts businesses there when the NPP took over?

Abossey Okai cannot be transformed into a modern automobile spare parts mkt bcoz of poor drainage system right from Accra Academy to Graphic Rd. The best decision is relocation outside Central Accra. B4 Henry Quartey, late Rawlings got a land at where you mentioned plus another place in Madina behind the Main Cemetery. Just as you said the Madina one has been left unused with so much congestion in the center of the town. It's up to Central govt to take a bold decision to relocate them. The Banks will follow them when they move.
