Why should we give weight to the opinion of a man representing an institution whose policies, whether intentionally or unintentionally, have contributed to the economic destruction of nations and left millions of people trapped in abject poverty?
The economic theories and policies promoted by these so-called enlightened institutions belong in the intellectual trash bin when they repeatedly fail the very people they claim to help.
Black people around the world should seriously consider strengthening economic cooperation, increasing intra-African and wider Black-owned trade, investing in one another, and building institutions that serve our own interests. The moment we become less dependent on systems that have historically exploited our resources and constrained our economic development, these so-called enlightened institutions will quickly realise that their influence is not as limitless as they imagine.
