The 99%who who still want to continue working are thieves. They're are nation wreckers. They want to continue to steal. They should go home and rest to allow the younger generation to take over.

Some people create the impression that if some people don't go on compulsory retirement at 60, younger ones would not get employment spaces. This is a backward thinking! In the western countries like USA, UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA ETC, there's no compulsory retirement age, but the younger ones get employment spaces because they encourage entrepreneurship and private sector empowerment. The retirement age of 65 in the USA, 68yrs in UK, 67yrs in Australia etc are qualifications for social security benefits but not for compulsory retirement. People can choose to work till any age they want in those countries. Think of it, how many of the public sector vacancies exist for younger ones to occupy even if those at 55 and above are asked to retire? Meanwhile, most people at age 60 in Ghana public sector are not financially ready to retire because of poor salaries: with the exception of political appointees/politicians and MPs, the so-called Article 71 holders, who take per diets and ex-gratia in addition to salaries. Why do you force those at 60 in public sector out against their will(most of them)??

The retiree should have no surviving spouse or child or children. When he/she dies, the balance of the retirement cash benefits accumulates to the government.
The 60-years is like early retirement elsewhere.

The pensions scheme will collapse soon if care is not taken. Life expectancy has improved in Ghana with many more workers living beyond 60.This implies that we may end up having more pensioners than those in active service and contributing to the scheme. Let's be dispassionate in discussing this issue. Most people get employed late in their lifes and may end up spending most of their lives as pensioners instead of actively working and contributing to the pensions scheme.
