MV Benjamin coke is reported to have been sent to his place and government could do fckall so he must have power. Don't forget, the man who once said Kumasi bekongs to him and he's even more powerful than asantie hene is in jail. He was a mere npp chairman. Now a Paramount chief is talking like he is a god. The Asante history we are reading now is becoming more confusing. Is the Asantehene a King, a Paramount Chief or a Kingmaker? From what we learned many years ago, the Asantehene is the Paramount Chief of Kumasi and he doesn't enstool or destool any of the Amanhene of the Amantour States. Juabenhene is the Family Head of the Amantour States and Nsutahene is their Uncle. Can the Asantehene enstool or destool any of the Paramount Chiefs of the Amantour States? New Juabenhene for instance sees himself as a Paramount Chief just like the Asantehene. So, he doesn't respond to summons from the Asantehene but to the Asanteman Council. We want those who are Authorities in Asante history to help us.
During one Akwasidae Kese, this Asantehene had invited many foreign dignitaries for the occasion. He directed that only he should ride in the Palanquin. The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area who had passed Ejisu and getting near KNUST upon hearing that news returned with his entourage back to Koforidua because he sees New Juaben as Omanhene just like the Asantehene.
When the previous Asantehene died, Asantehene wanted to be the only Chief to ride the Palanquin. When New Juaben did not agree, the Asantehene refused to attend the enstoolment of the President New Juabenhene. The people of New Juaben did not care and his installation was done. I am from Koforidua and it looks like there is not that much good relationship between the New Juaben and the Asantehene. That is wrong. When the Asantehemaa died and the Asantehene ordered for stores and markets to be closed, and for people to walk barefooted, the New Juaben people did not yield to that. I think it is time the Asantehene is made to know that he is not over and above the other Amanhene of Asanteman and that they are all Amanhene. I don't think that this is something extremely difficult for the Asantehene not to understand. I am from Koforidua and if the Asantehene happens to come to the city, people may know but they don't seem to care. People go about with their normal duties. I think the Asanteman Council should set the records straight for the Asantehene to know that he is also an Omanhene and not their King.We call that Primus Inter Pares.

Perhaps I don't know much or I am getting confused. Is it the Asantehene who chooses a Paramount Chief or the Asanteman council which he chairs? From what I understand, it is the Asanteman Council which he is the Chairman that does it. Unless I am wrong, it looks like the Asantehene is assuming too much authority. Can the Asantehene destool any of the Paramount Chiefs of the Amantour States? As at now, there is bad blood between the Paramount Chief of Kokofu and the Asantehene as the latter tries to assume authority over the latter.
The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area is not in the good books of the Asantehene because he also sees himself as an Omanhene just like the Asantehene is the Omanhene of Kumasi area .
I am concerned because some of the Amanhene respect the Asantehene very well but will not want to be that much dominated by the Asantehene. I am from Koforidua and I know the people of Koforidua do not that much yield to the dictates of some of the what the Asantehene wants. For example, when the Asantehemaa died, the people of New Juaben did not walk barefooted as was demanded.
The present Paramount Chief of New Juaben can decide not to attend to the summons of the Asantehene but to that of the Asanteman Council. Traditionally, the Nsutahene is the Uncle of the Amantour States and Juabenhene is the Family Head of the members of Asanteman. Asantehene is very much respected and honored but seen as first among equals in Asanteman. He cannot dictate to the people of New Juaben without the consent of the Omanhene of New Juaben. I will suggest that the Asantehene should let sleeping dogs lie else he may one day make one of the Paramount Chiefs of the Amantour States openly disregard his orders. This should not be allowed to happen because growing up at Agona Kwabere Paramount area, during the time of Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, Asanteman was very much United and the Asantehene was extremely respected. I was quite young but remember those days.
I will respectfully ask the Asantehene to hasten slowly before he may be taken to the Supreme Court by an aggrieved Paramount Chief. It is my prayers to the Ancestors that nothing like that happens.

I can certainly write something about the history of Ghana. My Major at UCC was History. Yes, and my Professor who taught me the History of Ghana was extremely good. He was Professional. Amenume. At our time, we were only five students that were chosen to Major in History.
Besides, I grew up in an Asante Traditional home where I learned a lot from Traditional leaders. History and Religions were my favorite subjects. During my youthful days, our schools took us to the Kumasi Cultural Center where we also learned a lot.
On a more serious note, you have not been able to disprove my assertions that the Asantehene does not enstool or destool any of the Paramount Chiefs of the Amantour States. I also pointed out that there is bad blood between the Asantehene and some of the Chiefs of the Amantour States. In as much as the Asantehene is very much respected in Asanteman and the rest of Ghana, he cannot assume some powers not granted him by the Asanteman Council. He cannot enstool and destool any Paramount Chief. That can only be done by t6 Asanteman Council. I was expecting you to prove me wrong since you also seems to know much about Asante history.
I have not claimed anywhere that I know everything about Asanteman but through Prof. Amenume, I learned a lot. You can maintain any stand that you have taken but I know that what I am saying is very truthful. I am very objective. You probably are among those who don't want to hear anything that the Asantehene does that is wrong. Sorry to say I don't write NSADWAASE STORIES. Try to deal with the truth and not be blinded because of the possible love that you have for the Asantehene. I believe and trust the Asanteman Council.

Yaw, what about those who never heard of Jesus or those whose religion existed before Christ. And was Jesus himself a Christian? He was not because John the Baptist baptized him into the Jewish faith when he was about twelve years. Jesus always attended the Temple and studied with the Elders. He also attended all Jewish festivals when growing up. Yes, and he regularly attended to the Temple.
I.think Judaism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Zoroastrianism, and African Traditional Religion are all far older than Christianity. Can we say that the adherents of those faiths will not go to Heaven because they are not Christians? Well, I don't know. Let us wait for God.

Asantehene should simply respect the tradition he came to meet and protect it. HE CANNOT DESTOOL OR ENSTOOL any Omanhene in Asanteman. It is the Asanteman Council that can do that. If care is not taken, he may end up ruining the reputation of Asanteman which is held in a very high esteem now.

Asantehene asked the person who the person was. The person replied that he is the “abusua panyin”. Note that an abusua panyin is already close to assuming the chieftaincy in the family unless he chooses to remain “abusua panyin”. Otumfuo after hearing the person respond that he is the “abusua panyin” says “ ko de hene no, wo ate?” Wo ate or w’ate is both a question and an encouragement in Twi!
And Otumfuor then gives the man a praise or endorsement of “wo ho y3 me f3” which “ho” is an abbreviation in Akan, it could be ho-nam or ho-nhom, which may also include the persons appearance, presentation, mannerism, aura, spirit, response or embodiment etc rather than Nipa dua, which is would have been specifically referring to the physical body. So in Akan or Asante Twi, a stranger or first person can tell a second stranger person that “wo ho y3 me f3”. The second person can ask “ me ho hefa na 3y3 wo f3? Or “ me ho y3 wo f3 Kwan b3n so” or “me ho y3 wo f3 s3 ne s3n?” The are numerous cases where the first person responds like “ s3 de3 wo y3 wo neama fa, s3 de3 wo bu nipa, s3 dea wo kita wo ho fa etc, na 3ma wo ho y3 me f3. But when someone says “wo nipa dua y3 me f3” it is explicitly referring to physical body, which is not what Otumfuor said.

We all tend to be greatly influenced by a person's appearance, how they talk, how they dress etc. This is particularly true when we are looking for a leader. If only we could see their hearts as God sees them, we would have a more peaceful and prosperous world.
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE CAN STILL MAKE GOOD CHOICES BY ASKING GOD FOR WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT IF WE ARE OURSELVES EARNESTLY SEEKING TO LIVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS COMMANDS AND TEACHINGS.
Wise men and women will always seek God's advice in all their affairs, whether great or small.
1 Samuel 16:7 Here God tells the prophet Samuel when he sends him to the House of Jesse to choose ancient Israel’s second King from among Jesse’s sons: "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature... For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." [The full story starts from 1 Samuel 16 verse 1]
The main lessons here in this Bible verse are
1.Humans judge by face, height, and status.
2.God looks deep inside a person's character and soul
Yet if we sincerely seek God's advice and will in any matter through prayer and in a spirit of humility (in some case through fasting and prayer) then God who sees what a person’s heart really is will help us make the right decision because He alone knows the future and what will work out best for us.
This is true especially when we are making decisions that can deeply affect the direction of our lives:
1.Choosing a wife or husband
2.Choosing and preparing for a career or vocation
3.Choosing where we want to live
4.Choosing our friends.
PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING WHETHER GREAT OR SMALL AND ALWAYS START WITH THANKING GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS- NAME THEM ONE BY ONE.
