Former Amenfi West parliamentary candidate Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa has been elected Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Afrifa polled 265 votes to beat Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, who secured 102 votes, in the party’s regional executive elections held at Agona-Nkwanta.

His election forms part of the NPP’s reorganisation of its regional structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Ignatius Aaaah Mensah won the first vice chairman position with 205 votes, while Francis Abeku Yankah was elected second vice chairman after polling 193 votes.

Kwasi Bonzoh secured the secretary position with 211 votes, while Lawrence Takyi won the deputy secretary position with 157 votes.

Amoabeng Acheampong emerged as organiser with 181 votes, defeating Frederick Koranteng, who polled 143, and Simon Amoah, who obtained 44 votes.

Emmanuel Acquah Mensah was elected communications director with 212 votes. He defeated Issah Fusaini, who secured 152 votes, and David Ackah Miezah, who received four votes.

Osagyefo Attiah Kwaw won the youth organiser position with 197 votes. Price Kunti Blankson polled 100, Frederick Kuma secured four, while Boadi Augustine Minla received 67 votes.

Augustina Nketiah was elected women’s organiser with 193 votes, ahead of Josephine Yaa Odoom, who obtained 173 votes.

Nana Adwoa Appiah recorded a decisive victory in the treasurer race with 262 votes, beating James Kainyaiah Asiedu, who polled 160.

Adam Harun Ahmed won the Nasara organiser position with 190 votes, while Alhaji Labib Imam Ali secured 177 votes.

The newly elected executives are expected to lead the NPP’s activities and mobilisation in the Western Region as the party prepares for the 2028 general election.
