The Ghana Prisons Service has declared a 29-year-old inmate, Peter Kyeremeh, wanted after he allegedly escaped from lawful custody.

Kyeremeh was serving a five-year prison sentence with hard labour after he was convicted of unlawful entry and stealing.

In a notice shared on its Facebook page on August 15, 2026, the Ghana Prisons Service urged the public to assist in locating the escaped inmate.

The notice, captioned “ALERT, Escape from Lawful Custody,” described Kyeremeh as fair in complexion and slim in stature.

The Service appealed to anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or prison establishment.

“If seen or captured kindly contact the nearest Police Station, any Prison Establishment or call 0506232978,” the notice stated.

The Ghana Prisons Service also urged members of the public to provide relevant information that could assist authorities in apprehending Kyeremeh and returning him to custody.
