The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has confirmed the death of its Deputy Chief Executive, Dr Dramani Bukari.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the NPA said Dr Bukari’s sudden passing was a great loss to the Authority, the downstream petroleum industry and those who worked with him.
“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return,” the NPA said, quoting the Qur’an.

The Authority described Dr Bukari as a valued member of its leadership and expressed deep sorrow over his death.
“The Board and Management of the NPA extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who mourn his passing,” the statement said.
The NPA said it took solace in the belief that Dr Bukari had returned to his Maker and prayed for strength, comfort and peace for his family, colleagues and others affected by his death.
“May Allah grant our brother and leader Eternal Rest. Ameen,” the Authority added.
Dr Bukari’s death is expected to draw tributes from stakeholders across Ghana’s downstream petroleum and energy sectors.
