The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Dramani Bukari, has reportedly died.

Dr Bukari played a key role in overseeing regulatory frameworks and supporting stability in Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector, with a focus on transparency and efficiency in the fuel market.

His death has attracted tributes from colleagues and stakeholders in the energy sector.

In a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeb Business, Mahama Haruna wrote: “Another sad news! Rest in peace Dr Dramani Bukari, Deputy CEO National Petroleum Authority.”

Dr Bukari was known for his expertise in energy economics and sustainable energy technologies, with a career spanning academia, climate innovation and petroleum regulation.

Before joining the NPA, he served as Director of Entrepreneurship, Partnerships and Investments at the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) and participated in international climate and energy forums.

His reported passing is being described as a significant loss to Ghana’s energy, petroleum and climate innovation sectors.
