On my return to the country last month, one of my pieces of luggage was brought directly to me by an attendant (it did not come through the conveyor belt) and I still do not know how the guy identified me as the owner. After handing it over, he asked for "something small." I showed him a stack of foreign bills I had on me and we both agreed that it was too much to give as a tip.
You know what? The guy shamelessly offered me his MoMo number and pleaded with me not to forget him when I changed some to cedis.
I thought that was the end of it until I got to the car park where, two uniformed ladies (I don't even know where they belong) approached me and the older one, who appeared to be in her forties, first complained about the warm weather to me (as if it was my fault) then requested money shamelessly to get a cold drink; I politely told her that I had no cedis on me but surprisingly, she offered me her MoMo number and asked me to send her something small once I had registered and loaded my MoMo wallet.
The sad thing is that they are still waiting in vain became I'm not sending a dime. In fact, if I still had their numbers, I would have posted them here.

This is not something new in Ghana. Check from the Police Department and you shall be surprised. They demand very openly and have no shame in doing so. The Military is not that guilty when accompanied by Senior Officers but can be worse sometimes. They can take with Brutish Force, sometimes beating people who don't pay or seizing things from them. Do we blame them? Even Efo Julor John Rawlings and Boakye Djan who claimed to have seize Power finally became more corrupt than those who were in Office before them. With Corruption, only Nigeria is worse than Ghana.

I expected such nonsense from maggots infested brains like you. You may be too young to know that the Military Governments that we had in Ghana prior to the time of Efo Julor John Rawlings were not arbitrary and inhumane like those who ruled with Efo John Rawlings, Boakye Djan, and their cohorts. Did you hear about women some of who were married to very respectful and responsible men carried to the various Military Camps, stripped almost naked and whipped at their genitalia? I saw everything from the time of Kotoka. Such madness never happened. Only irresponsible and nasty followers of Efo Julor John Rawlings and Boakye Djan will never admit and condemn the evil regimes of Efo Julor John Rawlings.
I was more knowledgeable and smarter than the Military Followers who had no credible gumption who were the worst of criminals that Ghana ever had as Rulers. They cultivated the ethnic hatred in Ghana that has made many other ethnic groups to develop an unqualified hatred for Anlo Ewe people many of who were not involved in the atrocious and evil deeds of the AFRC and PNDC Regimes. ANOKWALE, go and see how many of your people are trying to acquire the identities of other ethnic groups in Ghana but are easily betrayed by their pronunciation of R and L in any English word pronunciation. Your people have become a miserable lot in Ghana now. They can't go to settle comfortably in Togoland because Eyademah's Kabre people who are in charge of affairs there will skin them alive. Your people are not even welcome in Afghanistan, Iran. You and your people are not even welcome in North and South Poles. Hahahaha. Go and see how Efo Julor John Rawlings was not even welcome into Hell. Until people like you stop being incurably tribal, you shall always be a miserable lot in Ghana. KWASEA like you. Even Efo Julor John Rawlings couldn't develop your area. I wish a miserable wretched maggots like you with intolerable misery for the rest of your life.

And do you know what he did in secret? Do many men let their Secret Lives out in public? Even when caught, they will always lie to the very end. Will you agree that Efo Julor John Rawlings was a Chain Smoker of Cigarettes, and that he dabbled in the smoking of Weed? This was a known secret during his days at Achimota and as a Pilot at the Burma Camp. Ask any retired Military Officer who is over 72 years to find out the if I am not telling the truth.
Overall, Rawlings was nice, especially to children and openly played GUTTER TO GUTTER with some boys around the OSU Night Market. It should be mentioned that he sometimes had intemperate temperament.

My simple argument is, let's find genuine solutions to Ghana's problems instead of daily comparing ourselves to countries formed centuries ago.
We've all leaves abroad and know it is not all that glitters is gold. The current President of America has been found guilty for paying money to buy people's silence.
It tells you these goes on all the time. And this is a country that is 250 years old.
This daily tagging of Ghana as corrupt serves no useful purposes.
There are genuine Ghanaians suffering because of this generalised tag.
Rawlings removed a lot of this KALABULE but we said we wanted democracy and with democracy comes capitalism and we all know one of the pillars of capitalism, greed is good.
Maybe it is time, we go back to our old values and Ghana would be okay.

Just tell the forum how Efo Julor John Rawlings who had no furniture of his own but used Military Plane seats? Is this assertion new news in Ghana? Rawlings was extremely corrupt but a clever pretender who manipulated the intelligence of the masses. He came as incorruptible but events after he left Office proved otherwise. Where did he send the Fifty Cedis Notes that he illegally confiscated? Were the money paid back to the owners? Let us stop portraying that Rawlings, Boakye Djan, the Tsikatas and their cohorts were Angels. They were extremely corrupt. Tsatsu Tsikatas used to wear shoes made from the Inner Tubes of vehicle tyres, claiming he was a Socialist and that all people must be equally equal. What kind of Animal Farm Nonsense of Napoleon was that? Yet, he managed to get some poorly educated and less intelligent people to believe in him. They were all horrible deceivers.

it all started few years ago when i received a facebook message that a travel agency in Nigeria was recruiting Ghanaians and Nigerians for jobs in Canada, i sold everything i had and borrowed money from many people and kept sending them money for the travel to Canada, when i ran out of money to send to them, they invited me to Nigeria that my visa is ready, when i got to Nigeria they took the remaining money i had on me and seized my phone and refused to give me my passport that i posted to them earlier from Ghana, i was left stranded and resorted to sleeping under a bridge with some other homeless people and was begging people during the day for help to go back to Ghana, police raided the place i was squatting after some days and arrested everybody there, they took us to court because hard drugs and guns were found on some prostitutes and thugs squatting there, i was sentenced to 2 years in prison because i had no lawyer to defend me, i will finish serving my sentence in 3 months time and sent back to Ghana, my fellow Ghanaians please i need help of any amount of money so i can eat and treat myself, i have been sick and i have not eaten good food for sometime now, i don't want to die now my freedom date is near, no amount of money is too small to help me with, i will appreciate any amount of money sent to me and God will bless and reward the sender abundantly, i can work for the sender when i return to Ghana in 3 months time to pay back, we manage to use smuggled phones here to beg people through facebook and other social media platforms, this is how most prisoners here survive because we are very desperate, the situation here is so terrible, horrible and pathetic, infact we are in hellfire here, people die everyday here from starvation and minor illnesses like malaria and ulcer, please i need help urgently, i need to eat good food and buy malaria drugs to treat myself, the food they give us here is small portions of watery beans and jollof rice that can't satisfy a child, when an inmate is sick here and doesn't have money to buy medication, the prison warders will ignore you until you die or recover without taken medication, they may only give you paracetamol and antibiotics if you cry too much, but if you have money, the prison warders can buy for you good food and medicines from outside, i can be reached on WhatsApp via +2348140725576, this is my cellmate's number, some warders smuggle in phone for people here if you bribe them, i don't have a phone, when you chat, tell her you want to chat with Sandra so she can give the phone to me, please help make my story go viral so i can get help by posting my story and my cellmate's WhatsApp number: +2348140725576 on facebook and WhatsApp groups, please i need help, i'm suffering a lot here.

Mismanagement and stealing from the coffers by politicians punish the worker. Scaling up salaries would help sponge some of these situations at the airport and other places. There are people who even take 500 Cedis and below per month!
On the other hand, the Ghana Police officers on the roads (Motor Traffic Unit) would still extort 2/5 Cedis even if they're paid $1000/Wk because they make extortion part of their hobbies and habits.

Lawyers sell justice....we need a revolution of 360 degrees. Many people in Ghana compare themselves to those they know outside Ghana and lie, cheat or steal to live up some type of dream life while their condition sometimes are not the same. They must have cars, electronic devices, eat food and enjoy things they cannot pay for or maintain without help from others. What is wrong with our mentality as a nation? Yet everyone is talking about God and spirits in this country!!!!

GCACL is an autonomous company. High staff salaries is subject to high productivity and high profit. Extortion is a habit formed from greed. What about her colleagues who are not well paid but are disciplined and do not engage in extortion from passengers? Her stinking extortion attitude brings the image of the company and Ghana into disrepute and shame as they are the first and last point of contact when entering and leaving Ghana. Outright dismissal should be the most appropriate punishment but it must be stated in their conditions of service The staff must be banned from pocketing gifts. Gifts given to staff must be sent to HR or MD's office, recorded in a register, then Management shares to all staff at the end of the year or any other occasion. A signage with the inscription Passengers are not allowed to pay extra cash to officials must be boldly pasted all over the premises. Mystery shoppers must be frequently sent to transact business with hidden cameras on them, then later given to management to view and appropriate caution or actions taken.
