Black Queens forward Alice Kusi has assured Ghanaians that the team remains determined to fulfil their dream of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Ghana advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after a 1-1 draw against Mali in their final Group D match on Thursday.

Evelyn Badu’s first-half header gave Ghana the lead before Kadidiatou Diabate levelled for Mali, but the result was enough to secure the Black Queens’ place in the last eight.

With qualification for the World Cup reserved for the four semi-finalists at WAFCON 2026, Kusi says the team understands the importance of every remaining match.

The forward thanked supporters for their backing and promised the squad will continue working hard to achieve Ghana’s objective.

"Ghanaians, we know what you guys want, and we are here to fulfil it. Thank you for being behind us, and we will make sure we make everyone proud."

Kusi added that the team remains united and focused on delivering for the country after navigating a difficult group stage.

The Black Queens will now turn their attention to Malawi in the quarter-finals, scheduled for Sunday, August 9, in Rabat.
