President John Dramani Mahama has made some changes to his government, including new ministerial appointments.

The changes include the nomination of the Member of Parliament for Korley Klottey, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, as the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.

The Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has also been appointed the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources has now been reassigned to be the Minister for Defence.

Additionally, the Minister for Local Government has now been nominated to be the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources.

The changes in President Mahama's government were announced in a statement signed by the Minister of State in charge of Communications and Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The statement indicated that the changes now await the approval of the Parliament of Ghana.

"President John Dramani Mahama has, in accordance with Article 78(1), submitted the names of the following to Parliament, through the Speaker, for prior approval as Ministers of State," parts of the statement read.
