President John Dramani Mahama has trended on social media after a video surfaced showing him enthusiastically playing traditional drums with a group of Rastafarians during a public event.
The video, shared on Instagram on August 4, 2026, by Presidential Staffer for Diaspora Affairs, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), captures the President seated among the drummers as he joins in the rhythmic performance while onlookers cheer.
In the caption accompanying the video, KOD wrote, "All my family and friends know I'm a proud Rastaman... so just imagine how excited I was seeing my Boss and President vibing and jamming with the Rastas in Jamaica.
At one point in the video, President Mahama is heard delivering a popular Rastafarian greeting "Jah Rastafari," prompting loud cheers from the crowd before the Rastafarians responded with the traditional greeting in unison.
