President John Dramani Mahama has called on Christian leaders to use the prophetic ministry as a powerful instrument for hope, national unity and development, urging prophets to proclaim God's promises over Ghana while inspiring citizens to work collectively towards building a peaceful, prosperous and globally competitive nation.

The President's message was delivered by the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, during the Silver Jubilee celebration of Prophet Agyemang Prempeh Ministries.

The event, which marked the ministry's 25 years of service to God and humanity, brought together ministers of the Gospel, traditional rulers, political leaders, business executives and members of the Christian community to celebrate the church's contribution to Ghana's spiritual, moral and socio-economic development.

Addressing the gathering, Afriyie-Ankrah said the prophetic office remained one of God's greatest gifts to the Church, charged with strengthening believers, promoting righteousness and inspiring national transformation.

He, however, acknowledged that the prophetic ministry had in recent years come under public scrutiny because of the conduct of a few individuals.

According to him, although some prophets had, through unfortunate errors and irresponsible conduct, brought the prophetic ministry into disrepute, it would be unfair to judge the entire office by the shortcomings of a few.

"There are still genuine prophets who faithfully seek and proclaim the mind of God with humility, integrity and wisdom," he stated.

The Presidential Envoy explained that throughout biblical history, prophets were not only called to warn nations of impending danger but also to proclaim hope, restoration and God's promises.

He expressed concern that public discourse often focused almost exclusively on prophecies of doom, tragedy and misfortune, while messages of hope, peace and national progress received far less attention.

"It appears that many people focus only on the negative. While we must never ignore divine warnings, we must equally proclaim God's promises of peace, healing, restoration and prosperity. The prophetic ministry must inspire confidence, strengthen faith and declare the good things God has ordained for Ghana," he stressed.

Afriyie-Ankrah urged ministers of the Gospel to continue speaking words of hope over the nation, saying Ghana's future should be shaped not only by prayers against adversity but also by declarations of peace, unity, justice, prosperity and development.

"We must speak life over Ghana. We must declare peace, prosperity, justice and development. While we do not ignore the challenges confronting our nation, we must also proclaim the positive future God has ordained for Ghana," he added.

Touching on the country's future, Afriyie-Ankrah said President Mahama remained firmly committed to transforming Ghana into one of Africa's leading economies through visionary leadership, prudent governance and strategic investment.

According to him, the President believes Ghana possesses the human capital, abundant natural resources and entrepreneurial spirit required to achieve rapid economic transformation.

He said President Mahama's vision was to build a modern Ghana with world-class infrastructure, quality education, efficient healthcare, thriving industries, a technology-driven economy and expanded opportunities for every citizen.

The Presidential Envoy noted that the President was confident Ghana could attain levels of development comparable to countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and China, whose remarkable progress had been built on discipline, innovation, industrialisation, effective leadership and long-term national planning.

"Ghana has every potential to become one of Africa's greatest success stories. If we remain united, disciplined and committed to the national interest, there is no reason why our country cannot attain the levels of development achieved by nations such as Malaysia, Singapore and China," he said.

Afriyie-Ankrah also paid tribute to Prophet Agyemang Prempeh for his immense contribution to national development through his spiritual leadership and humanitarian work.

He said the ministry had consistently complemented national development efforts through evangelism, youth empowerment, charitable outreach, counselling services and support for vulnerable members of society.

"As believers, whenever challenges confront us, our responsibility is to pray so that God's mercy may prevail while continuing to proclaim His promises over our nation," he said.

Concluding the President's message, Afriyie-Ankrah expressed optimism about Ghana's future despite present challenges.

"I believe Ghana's best days are still ahead. Through faith in God, visionary leadership, hard work and our collective commitment to the national interest, we will build the peaceful, prosperous and united Ghana we all desire," he declared.

He urged all Ghanaians to remain steadfast in prayer, patriotic in service and unwavering in their belief that, through unity and determination, Ghana could emerge as one of Africa's leading examples of peace, prosperity, innovation and sustainable development.

The celebration of the Silver Jubilee of Prophet Agyemang Prempeh Ministries, he said, was therefore not only a recognition of twenty-five years of faithful ministry but also a reminder of the indispensable role faith-based organisations continue to play in shaping values, strengthening communities and supporting Ghana's march towards national transformation.
