One person has died, while four others sustained injuries after a Kia VIP Grandbird bus crashed into a faulty MAN diesel truck on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on July 29, 2026.
According to a post shared on the Facebook page of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), firefighters from the Anyinam Fire Station responded to the crash at Frimpongso and rescued the trapped victims.

The rescue team successfully extricated two occupants trapped inside the bus and assisted in transporting the injured victims to a medical facility for treatment.
One male victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital, while four others were admitted for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations by the GNFS indicate that the accident occurred when the VIP bus collided with the rear of a faulty truck parked along the roadside while attempting to overtake.
The impact caused extensive damage to the front portion of the bus, while the rear section of the truck was also damaged.
