Prophet Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, has claimed that the country will not hold elections in 2028, stating that some events are expected to unfold in 2026 that will ultimately affect Ghana's electoral process.

According to him, a conversation about the next election will start, move to Parliament and have consequences for the 2028 elections.

“I sat on this same seat sometime ago and had a conversation with Sakyiwaa, and I prophesied that in 2026, there will be a conversation about the election. In June, it will end up in Parliament and it will affect the 2028 election,” he said in a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on July 25, 2026.

Prophet Roja further urged Members of Parliament to pass laws that serve the interests of Ghanaians.

“I am not a politician. I don’t know much about the law. I want to urge MPs to pass laws that will benefit Ghanaians,” he said.

He also explained that the outcomes of elections are first determined in the spiritual realm before manifesting physically.

“Anything that has happened today happened long ago in the spiritual realm. The next election, the realms will open from September to October. If it opens and you are not able to maintain the seat, that is it,” he claimed.

He stated that Members of Parliament seeking to retain their seats could seek spiritual guidance during that period.

“I remember they said if you are an MP, the realms will open September to October, so MPs can consult spiritualists if they want to maintain their seat,” he added.

His comments come amid discussions over Ghana’s presidential term limits following a suit filed at the Supreme Court by two individuals seeking an interpretation of Article 66(2) of the 1992 Constitution, the provision that states a person shall not be elected to hold office as President of Ghana for more than two terms.

The suits, which were filed separately by Ganiwu Alhassan, a teacher of Kpandai in the Northern Region and Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie, Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, are essentially asking the Supreme Court to determine whether or not the two-term limit in Article 66(2) bars only consecutive service or bars a person outright once they have served two terms in any form.

President John Dramani Mahama, who returned to office in 2025 after previously serving as president from 2013 to 2017, has maintained that his focus remains on fulfilling the mandate given to him by Ghanaians.

“The people of Ghana gave me a mandate for one term. And I am working hard to meet the promises I made them,” he said.

He added that he has directed his ministers to work with urgency to deliver on the government’s commitments within the available period.

“I always tell my ministers, I say, let’s number our days so that we can work harder to meet the promises we made the Ghanaian people,” he said.

The Supreme Court’s interpretation of the presidential term limit provision is expected to provide clarity on whether a person who has served two separate terms can seek re-election.
