Good job done. I hope the contract will be awarded to three different contractors to expedite the job. Sonitra, Taysec and CP.

The raod is a completely new one being constructed through thick forest and streams. The military was tasked to clear the right of way; meaning they are to clear the way to create a 120-meter wide corridor through the forest before actual construction of the road in can begin. Without the creation of the right of way through the forest, the contractor would not be able to do the work. It is a virgin road through virgin forest.

The military should be made to play a supervisory role over the project, i.e. Consultancy.
There should be serious fiscal discipline.
I trust the military can offer us that level of integrity discipline.

Currently there is an unfinished Accra- Kumasi highway started by the last administration of Ghana.
Q
When will that highway be completed?
And,
Instead of this Accra- Kumasi highway with irs funds in a" sinking fund"
Why not a railway line with bullet trains from Accra, through Kumasi to Paga in the North ?
Again
Folks..
Am I missing something here?

The old ACCRA to KUMASI road is still under constructions. That is a different budget. It has nothing to do with the new express way.

This has been going on for more than 10 years without end. The NPP wasted 8 years and were unable to complete it, and they have the temerity to accuse this government of neglecting it. The fact is that the work is still ongoing, albeit on a slow pace. Did you say billet trains? Please, let us learn to crawl before we run. The country was virtually bankrupt when the NDC took over, so be measured in your expectations. The world has moved on into modern infrastructural development, so we cannot be left behind because there are old projects that have to be rehabilitated. The Expressway is a must. Other Afrian countries have moved ahead and we must catch up with them.

Those who doubted the feasibility of the project should by now be looking for some place to hide. They even doubted the ability of the government to fund the project. Perhaps, they were so pessimistic because of the experiences under the failed NPP government which piled up debts upon debts that could not be serviced, and left several stalled uncompleted projects that had no sources of funding. Today, a government with superior wisdom, knowledge, and competence has shown that there is nothing that a determined, honest, faithful, competent, and focused people can' not do. The Accra Kumasi Expressway is surely coming.
