A Ghanaian man has shared a video showing himself and several other Ghanaian nationals taking a break on a mountainous route in Colombia as they continue their journey on foot towards the United States.
The video, which has surfaced on social media, captures the group resting on the mountainside after what appears to be a physically demanding trek through rugged terrain.
'Don't attempt illegal migration to US' - Ghanaian 'American Ninja' warns
Although the identities of the individuals and the exact location in Colombia could not be independently verified, the footage highlights the perilous routes some migrants undertake in pursuit of better economic opportunities abroad.
The clip has sparked conversations on social media, with many users expressing concern over the dangers associated with irregular migration through parts of South and Central America.
Thousands of migrants from Africa and other parts of the world have in recent years travelled through countries in South America, often crossing difficult terrain on foot as they attempt to reach the United States. Such journeys frequently expose migrants to harsh weather conditions, exhaustion, criminal gangs and other life-threatening risks.
The video has since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users wishing the travellers a safe journey, while others urged prospective migrants to carefully consider the risks associated with such routes.
