An Accra High Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Achibonga has struck out an application filed by the Attorney-General seeking to revoke an order granted by the court permitting the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company Limited, Hanan Abdul-Wahab, to travel out of the jurisdiction.

Deputy Attorney-General Dr Srem Sai moved the application in court today, 16th July 2026, for the order prayed for by the State.

Immediately, he started arguing, the presiding judge asked him about the duration of the order, to which the deputy Attorney-General replied that it was valid until 12th July.

The learned judge then stated that, clearly, the order had lapsed, and there was no order in force for him to revoke. He asked the deputy Attorney-General to do what was right in the circumstances.

Dr Srem Sai then sought leave to withdraw the application filed by him.

Justice Achibonga ordered that the application be struck out.

Counsel for Hanan Abdul-Wahab, Godfred Yeboah Dame, in response, stated that clearly there was nothing to revoke since the order had lapsed after the accused person was arrested and detained by the Republic.

The application, therefore, cannot be granted. His concern was that the accused person's money and passport had been seized by EOCO following his arrest.

The presiding judge enquired about the seizure of Hanan's passport by EOCO following his arrest.

He stated that his order was for the passport to be deposited at the Registry of the Court after Hanan's travel to London.

He would make the necessary orders if he were satisfied with the wilful disobedience of any party to comply with his orders.
