I am afraid to say that our doctors are not well trained and well prepared for the challenges ahead. Having medical and physiological training is not enough. Psychology is the rock behind the things we do but we often ignore it because it is mostly unseen. No person can operate fully without a strong psychological understanding of himself and others.

I am sorry for this situation. And are those Medical Doctors still allowed to practice? This is very serious and dangerously dangerous. Are their Patients safe? Well this is Ghana. Even if they are found out or undergoing treatments, they will still be allowed to practice. It is very important that they are stopped from practicing and sent to a Developed Country for serious mental health evaluation and treatment. They cannot be allowed in the Consultation Rooms. Only God will know the harm they have done already to their Patients. A Medical Doctor with a Mental Health issues SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE. I suggest that they should be sent outside the country for proper medical evaluation and treatment. In Ghana, Doctors evaluating them will be their friends, classmates, and practicing colleagues and can be compromised. This is very serious.

You remember your favorite friend Paul gyamfi who went to Europe to treat his mental health when he was head of state. His own friend Ahoi said he use to play with toy planes during cabinet meetings. Your point about how dangerous mentally challenged doctors can be is overshadowed by when the mad man is a soldier. He even killed Amedume because too many Akans have been killed so he had to kill an ewe to equalise. He reminds me of the blood thirsty weirdo Lindsay Graham who use to fck boys.

He never traveled from Ghana with the intention of going for a check up, in the first place. He was in that country and had a challenge, so when he checked in and the question was asked him, he decided it was OK to use a moniker so as not to draw attention to himself. That's called modesty, pure and simple, with all the charisma he conjured. And in fact, he told this story all by himself, otherwise no one would know.
When government appointees go for check ups and never blab about it, how many in Ghana know?

Seventeen have been found and confirmed. I bet you that the number will be higher. I think that there should be mental health evaluation for all Medical Doctors and those who want to become Doctors. Such evaluations should not be done by Ghanaian Doctors but by Mental Health Professionals from Developed countries. The work of the Medical Professionals is stressful and they should be evaluated periodically unannounced. It is dangerous to have a Medical Practitioner who has mental health problems.

It doesn't also mean the Ghana Medical and Dental Council should be weaponized and used against professional colleagues to settle personal scores in the Registrar's interest and that of close associates. There is a difference between using a regulatory body to genuinely assist professional colleagues who have mental health challenges and invoking the power of the Council as a regulatory body to defame and destroy professional colleagues clearly on grounds of personal vendetta. Some Medical Directors who have close ties with Dr. Divine Banyubala who concoct incriminatory letters against Colleagues they have issues with to have the Council confiscate their license of practice are well known to be involved in substance abuse even from medical school days and still into substance abuse even as Medical Directors. These are the very persons who use their friendship with Dr. Divine Banyubala to falsely and maliciously incriminate colleagues to have their license confiscated without any semblance of a fair hearing, let alone proper investigations into such malicious allegations of mental health challenges. Act 857 is being misapplied for personal and not professional reasons that serve the national interest. Weaponization of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council for selfish personal gains have rather seen very good doctors destroyed in the public health sector through overt blackmail using privilege position of power. Indeed a lot of professional colleagues have either died or suffered various degrees of disabilities including mental disabilities as a result of contrived torture and dehumanizing treatment in which the Medical and Dental Council and Divine Banyubala in particular are deeply involved. The Registrar is a Lawyer by profession. What is more unethical and unprofessional than confiscating somebody's license of practice without giving the practitioner who is being accused of a mental debility an opportunity to be heard against the rules of natural justice? These accusations are mostly false and cooked because they are usually because of disputes between superiors and subordinates. What the Council does is to automatically take adverse action against the subordinate employee without due process. In other words, the Council is not addressing abuse, dehumanizing treatment and torture of junior doctors by superiors that is significantly contributing to the rising incidence of mental health challenges among doctors. The Council is rather adding to the problem by abetting in these crimes especially in the public health sector. There colossal evidence of power abuse and vindictive tendencies in the Ghana Medical and Dental Council are well known and widespread because many of the unfair treatment of medical doctors such as false and malicious accusations of mental health disorder(so-called impairment) have become issues of court dispute in the past and present. The Medical and Dental Council have never won a single case against Doctors who are brave to file suits against the Council in Court against gross and flagrant violation of their fundamental human rights in glaring misapplication of authourative power purposely for witch-hunting and persecution of their person under the guise of so-called impairment. The problem in Ghana is that laws don't work including the very statutes churn out by Parliament. It is all about corruption, nepotism, cronyism and favouritism compounded by dirty politics. I dare the parliamentary select committee or subcommittee on health if only it will take up the responsibility, to conduct a simple background check of happenings in the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and the rot will blow them in the face right at their door step. What is happening at the Ghana Medical and Dental Council is the direct opposite of events at the General Legal Council for instance. The General Legal Council doesn't cover up errand lawyers involve in corruption, malpractices, unethical or unprofessional conduct in one way or the other. The Medical and Dental Council does by actually blackmailing professional medical doctors who insist on the right thing for patients, in line with professional conduct and ethics in favour of those who are doing all the wrong things, resulting in preventable disease complications and deaths in the healthcare system of the country. It doesn't therefore come as a surprise if the country's population is confronted with huge disease burden and death. In Ghana, 'see no evil, hear no evil but evil is prevalent and it has become the bonafide right of the rich and powerful who have the political leverage much to detriment of the poor and powerless as the majority. The problem is that a corrupt system including the justice system disinterested in holding public officers accountable help conceal these things and protect the likes of Divine Banyubala but they certainly know the truth about such ill-happenings in key regulatory bodies like the Ghana Medical and Dental. You will have same powerful people as a cult ganging up to fight and suppress the truth using the State Apparatus when they are the very ones who are supposed to lead in upholding the letter and spirit of the Constitution for the average Ghanaian. What an interesting Country!!
