It is an open secret that amorous teachers have been taking advantage of students from uncultured homes. This wasn't a rape issue. It was by consent and moreso the girl in question isn't a student. She's a past student of the school and the issue should not be treated as Satan's sin. You think the police don't have work to do like you people in the ministry. Yes, the teacher can face disciplinary action from the GES but not court action as if the whole thing is bothered on rape.

However, as long as he's not charged for defile or rape of the giri, he can only be dishonourably dismissed from the Ghana Teaching Service and banned from working with young people. Is there a law in Ghana that criminalises sex between a teacher and a student, unless the student was a minor. How old was the girl? Less we forget, there's still the tradition of marrying young girls to older men in Ghana.

Is it the first case in Ghana when a teacher has been involved sexually with a student? These are consenting adults. Ghanaian men have been having sexual relationships with their subordinate females in all sectors of society and nothing has happened to them. The teacher shouldn’t be used as a scapegoat because this type of relationship common in churches, institutions of higher learning, work places and our schools. However the venue where they got intimate was a poor choice.Not until Ghana criminalizes the relationship between men and their female subordinates , this obnoxious behavior will continue .
