Pres Mahama has said categorically that he's not standing for a third term, so why all these? We don't need any rocket scientist to explain to us again.

President Mahama must be intelligent not to fall into this trap. I think the constitution is very clear when it says two terms. We should be careful the suit does not open a flood gate to chaos in the country.

A learned and a patriotic Ghanaian would advocate for clarity of ambiguity in the constitution. Every Ghanaian must know and understand what the constitution stipulates and what the English term CONSECUTIVE means. The court must not dismiss the case seeking interpretation of the article and the clause about presidential serving term of office. Excuse me to say that you academians, lawyers, and ploticians are the most dishonest creatures in society, always manipulating issues forvyour interest. Let there be transparency and proper education on things that affect every Ghanaian. Why do we have formal education? We are thought in school that "consecutive" means uninterrupted sequence of events, but you lawyers and politicians are redefining it based on your parochial interest. Do you people really love the country? It's so sad!

The words "Consecutive" and "separate" do not appear in the clause. After a person serves two terms in office as President of Ghana, either back-to-back two terms or one term separately and then another one term separately, that person cannot be President of Ghana again until death.

At the end of 2028, Mahama cannot be President of Ghana again because he would've served a total number of TWO TERMS (separately) just as Agyekum Kufuor and Akufo-Addo served TWO TERMS (consecutively or back-to-back)

Why the hate? The law says two consecutive terms - which needs to be tested for proper interpretation. Consider the interpretation and application of "two consecutive terms" in Russia. Mr. Putin served his first two terms, took a break by serving as prime minister, and now currently serving his second return as president. There is nothing foul if someone wants interpretation from the supreme court. And by the way, this is not applicable to only Mahama, all past presidents including Akuffo Addo and Kuffour can come back to contest again, if they so wish and the constitution allows, anaaa?

Kwesi prempeh is a lawless lawyer who do not believe in democracy. Is he trying to deny these Ghanaian citizens their rights? If he understood the law, why should he denied others from understanding same. Does the supreme court belongs to his father? Why is he always jittery when presidential term for president Mahama is mentioned? No matter the outcome, if Ghanaians decide to keep president Mahama in power, no individual or military can stop it. Ghanaians wants good governance not changing leaders in the of democracy.

Thats how the greedy NDC are, they thought they're smart, NPP should just take things cool and let the devil's continue to rule for another term, but when NPP also gain power the use the same constitution that made a president to go for third term then the NPP has to change it to 8 years straight in power period. NPP should relaxed and let the Mahamaliar with his big head fools around and he can seek for third term, but instead of third term somebody will stay 8 years straight in power if this is how they want this country will go it will go like that.
