I remember one time getting stuck after an attempted Coup in Togo. Aflao Borde Crossing was closed by the Soldiers. I took a Train to travel from Aflao to Kpalime. From there we took a seriously overloaded Taxi a little distance into the Ghana territory. After that, we did the rest of the journey to Nyive by foot. Finally, we were able to reach Hohoe by using Short Buses through almost unmotorable roads to and walking.
No matter what the Rawlings Government did, people were able to beat the Border Situation. Can we forget that the Border Guards, the Police and the few Military men sent to enforce the closure of Border Routes are also Human Beings who also need food, shelter, and accommodation for themselves and their families? Members of Rawlings’s Government were steadfastly stealing from Ghana to provide for their families. Efo Julor John Rawlings, Boakye Djan and the Anlo-Ewe criminals who were the cohorts of Rawlings and his bandits were all involved.
Is it not true that some members of the Immigration and Customs Service Officers were and still seriously involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs to Ghana? Such Traffickers make Millions of US Dollars on just one day operations and can pay their way through to the BIG PEOPLE at the Top so that the smugglers are made to go away. Try to be telling on them and you shall be killed or your house and vehicles set on fire. That is the situation in Ghana. Traffickers always have ways of paying their ways through because the People at the Top of the Government are all terribly corrupt

There are reasons why Ambulances, Fire Fighting, and Electricity Vehicles are not stopped when they have their Sirens blasting. Even all other vehicles stop and yield for such vehicles to pass. It will do a lot of good if you can try to find out why some things are allowed to be done without Police and Military Personnel intervention.
