The request for a house is outlandish, but certainly not a crime, nor is there any evidence that this person was ever engaged in drug trafficking. Having a knowledge of people actively engaged in drug trafficking doesn't necessarily mean one is engaged in drug trafficking.

These people can be trained further to help as licensed private investigators.
Let’s be realistic: if professionals are paid, citizens who support their work should also be rewarded. A 24-hour economy is right there; employment for some is resolved.

Do you think giving out such information is safe? He's risking his life so that you can do your job. He deserves to secure his future and provide for his family. In some parts of the world, informants are taken care of for the rest of their lives. If you can't do the job on your own, then pay the informant for helping you do it instead of complaining.
