I am very sorry for the death of the lady. The point that must be realized is that some of these Health Care Professionals, including Nurses and Doctors there have not been paid for over 18 months. How do we expect them to work satisfactorily, cheerfully and willingly and efficiently. Don’t forget the very old saying that IF THEY PRETEND TO PAY YOU, YOU ALSO PRETEND TO WORK. This is exactly what is going on in our Government facilities. This is sad.
I want to know if the Military, Police, and Politicians are paid regularly and appropriately? Have we forgotten the old axiom that THE ARMY DOES NOT MARCH ON AN EMPTY STOMACH? Pay and treat workers the right way and they will work correctly. Workers are not paid appropriately and on time. Do we expect the Nurses and Medical Doctors and Staff to walk to work and do so happily. Don’t we have some newly trained Nurses who have not been paid for almost two years? We are reaping what our Politicians have poorly sowed. Don’t blame the Nurses and Doctors.

Colonial reparations is necessary because Europeans plundered Africa and other part of the world in the name of colonialism. Many Aboriginal/indigenous people/Tindanas were killed in the quest of Europeans insatiable power for Empire propaganda. Resources plundered and Africa development stagnated. Africa is now a test laboratory for Europeans engineering programs. Many wars in almost every part of Africa engineered from these Colonialists. Major Europeans economies are cushions by Gold, diamond and other resources from Africa. Africa and African resources were used and are still being used to build the cities of these Colonialists. Today Neocolonialism is seen more better than it partner in crime colonizations. What have we done as Africans to deserve these barbarism. Because we tolerate their nonsense without asking for retributions. It is time these Europeans and their puppets compensate the indigenous people who lost almost everything to the plunderous Europeans Colonialists. Africans were already having a nice and well structured clans leadership system practicing before the coming of these Europeans invaders. Hospitality was at the highest, communal living was never disgusting and love for one another was the order of the day. Africans lived with these for over 3000 years until their contacts with the white man. They dicapitate and made Africa handicap for their selfies gain. Colonial Reparations is necessary.

Were it not Africans who went to war against each other, defeated and captured the defeated and sold the vanquished into slavery to the White People? Did any White People ever ventured into the interior to fight and capture African slaves? Let us blame Africans for the Trans Saharan, Trans Indian Ocean, and the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. We sold our own. Have we forgotten that the Akwamu, Denkyira, Asante, and Akyem sold hundreds of people from other Ethnic Groups to Europeans at the Castles dotted along our coasts to be sold into slavery?

Let me point it out to you that it were our own Africans who sold their kin into Slavery. Have you ever read about the Trans Saharan Slave Trade? Until the Almoravid invaders from Morocco attacked and defeated the Songhai empire,, the people of Western Sudan in present day West Africa, namely Ghana, Mali, and Songhai were already selling Black Africans as slaves to the Arabs of North Africa. The Asante, Dankyira Akwasi, Akyem, the Hausa , and the Mole Dagbani people were already trading in Slaves before the Europeans joined that trade. At that time, trade in Humans was legal and people had to do it because of you didn’t defeat your enemies, weaken them, and sold them into slavery, they were going to do that to you. The Europeans did not start the Slave Trade. It already existed.
Read the history of why The Prophet Mohammed was believed to have sent his warrior Umar to conquer Egypt, it was because they could get slaves to use, and for the Egyptians to pay taxes to him. So, when it comes to Slave Trade, blame the Africans very well. Growing up in the Ashanti Region in the early 1960s, there was still an African Slave Trade. People from the North of Ghana and Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger sold their conquered people into slavery who came to work in Cocoa Farms and the Timber Industry in the Asante, Bono , and Akyem areas. They were given the obnoxious Traditional Title NKOAFO. If you are young, you can ask your elderly Grandparents. Even when Nkrumah legally abolished the Slave Business in Ghana, it was still carried on. People acquired as slaves did not go to school but did all the menial and farm work, and also the quarry business. Did you ever hear the Akan word NKOASOM? Translated literally, it means Slavery Service. I have always spoken against any Slavery Reparations to Africans because we sold our own.

Technically we gained more under colonial rule than the last 2 Republics. We have enslaved ourself more than the slave masters did. In the olden days people were captured but these days we go into slavery ourselves in South Africa, India, Europe and the Middle east to name a few. Even in Ghana there are slaves and others living in what Bob Marley refer to as "sub-human bondage". Let us stop blaming the whiteman as we have lived with him and seen that he is nothing to envy and we are better. Just that our leaders are cruel and heartless.

In this life, we have NURSES and we have WORKERS.
The character traits of a NURSE are COMPASSION, EMPATHY, CARING, LOVE, INTEGRITY, ENCOURAGING, EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION, etc. So whether he or she get paid on time or not, he or she will still compassionately, empathetically, lovingly, and encouragingly take care of every patient he or she come into contact with.
Whiles a WORKER is someone whose only and main purpose of being in where he or she is working is to receive pay at the end of every month.
In every REAL and TRUE hospital, what we have there are NURSES, but the sad truth is that in Ghana almost all the people we are having in our hospitals are not NURSES but MERE WORKERS.
So my brother, the truth is that this lady did not die simply because they've not receive their 18 month pay.
It is simply because these people are not DOCTORS and NURSES. They are MERE WORKERS who have not got the slightest feeling for human life.

Sorry Director for your loss.
At a certain point in my marriage life and when my second born Child whom I have name before the Lord. I had to beg nurses and a doctor to attend to my pregnant wife who was almost dying in pain to deliver that very child, God being so God, that male doctor I begged listened and God been so Good mother and child is alive today. From that time, I have stopped child-bearing and wears Condoms to sleep with my wife. My Baby girl is 6yrs now. Most Ghanaians are inhumane and hypocritical. Most workers admire their uniforms and phones to the very work they have been called to do. I will never again make my wife pregnant because some wicked human beings at the hospital could make her die. My wife have been disturbing me to impregnate her but I have told her no, then it wouldn't be me. Period. So sorry Sir. May God Almighty keep her soul in rest

It is the money they think about. It is just like Ghanaian who train as nurses in the US and prefer to work at night because of the night differential. They come to work and they want to sleep. They get angry if they get called around. But because the system does tolerate their foolish behaviour they are forced to work.

What do you expect.. In a country where nurses are posted right after school without dint of hard work and merit... Its an automatic employment after school so most of them don't feel responsible for their actions because they landed themselves a job without toil... Ghana health system is sick... Poor facilities, poor attitude towards work and lack of empathy on the part of some health workers... I was at ridge when a colleague of mine was admitted and died some few days after... A nurse was on duty looking into her phone and entertaining herself where the drip being administered to my colleague wasnt flowing as it should.. I reported the issue to her and she lackadaisically walked to fix it and I tried to remind her she was at work so she should keep an eye on her patients... She asked me if I was the one to tell her how to discharge her duties.... I nearly gave her a hefty slap but I was restrained by another friend... Our colleague died the next day and I wasn't surprised... Ministry of health must wake up.. there must be restrictions in the usage of phones during work.. there must be CCTV in all wards to monitor activities of health workers.. Ghana is just sick

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear wife. Sadly and Im not by any means condoning the actions of both the doctors and the nurses, real care and love for humanity is not on the DNA of the typical Ghanaian . The care and compassion is after death. Sad but this is what i have observed over countless times in many years. I don’t know how this will change.
Once again my deepest condolences and sympathy for you and your family.

If you're in a hospital anywhere in the world, and was given a medicine by a nurse or a doctor, please ask what the medicine is for. Especially, if you didn't see them open the package infront of you. You can search the name of the medicine by Google, to see if you need that medicine. Always ask for the package of the medicine to check. Don't be shy, it's your body and you have to question the healthcare workers.
The nurses are just following doctors orders blindly. I know, I am a nurse and we make mistakes, too !

Dr. Kuto, let me first of all still send my condolences to you for the death of your wife. But I have few things to disagree with you, this is your wife we talking about when you realized the monkeys were making jest about the wrong medication what did you do? I don’t want to believe per your rank you do not have any medical friends or relatives or co workers who are related to medical people. Could you have called someone who is in the field to know what the medication given will do to your wife and what your next line of action should be?
Could you have escalated this further spoke to someone even the security if you need to tip them to know the higher ups and where they’re are located or numbers? To have called them to help your wife?
You claimed your wife was in a bad situation yet you left her for 3 hours and came back to her when she has being mishandled and pained. Dr, I do sympathize with you but you’re just the same as the monkeys who laughed at your wife’s pain.
I took my father to same hospital, he had a CVA bleeding from the nose profusely, we were told Dr’s were having a meeting and there was no one to attend to him, after they took vitals and everything and I waited 15 mins and nothing was done, I turned the wheelchair and dashed out like a crazy person with my dad with nurses and all calling for their blood sugar and strips money. I didn’t look back drove straight to 37 and he was seen pronto. My dad had finally died after 7 more years of living with us, if I had played dull I would have buried him 7 years earlier.
The duty of care is not on a Dr or Nurse, it’s on you the relative if they’re unserious or relaxed or fooling prioritize the well being of your relative. May her soul rest in piece

Why do most of these people enter nursing? Just money. They're not the Florence nightingale type.
